How to check if my device is locked to a carrier/ mobile operator?
Note: Some carriers may not unlock a new phone within the first six months.
Some devices allow you to check Carrier lock by checking the settings menu and some don't. In order to check if your device is compatible with any SIMs/ eSIMs, sometimes you may need to simply try a different SIM.
For IoS devices, you will find it here:
- Go to: Settings โ General โ About โ scroll to Carrier Lock / Network Provider Lock
- If it shows a carrier name, your phone is locked.
For Android devices, 'Settings' will look different based on your Android model(e.g. Samsung devices):
- Connections โ SIM Manager โ Add eSIM (appears only for eSIM compatible/ unlocked devices)
In order to unlock your devices, you will need to contact your carrier.
If your device has No SIM restrictions, a ConnectedYou eSIM will work on your device.
